Lord Marshal – Commanding officer of the Shadow Legion and highest ranking possible among the merc corp.
Marshal Prefect – XO of the Shadow Legion, second in command, and second highest ranking possible.
Prime Legionnaire – Highest Ranking NCO of the Shadow Legion – Assigned to HQ, but no command responsibilities. Their purpose is to make sure the multiple components of the unit are functioning, and that person only reports to the CO and XO of the Shadow Legion. While this person has no direct rank, other officers and staff are urged to follow this persons advice. This person is responsible for receiving all recommendations from the Field Marshall’s and Marshall’s Office, investigating, and making an independent finding to the Lord Marshall
Field Marshal - Reserved – This position is the Chapter Commander overseeing the different companies of the chapter. This person is assigned to Chapter itself, and is not command staff. No rank below this is considered as command staff.
Legionnaire Prefect – This is the senior Chapter NCO assigned to the Chapter HQ of the Field Marshal. Like the Prime Legionnaire, this person does not have direct command authority, and is tasked with keeping the Chapter's multiple functions running smoothly. This person, while not of command authority, should be respected by all under the Field Marshal authority. This person carries much weight in command circles. The Prefect is also responsible for the investigation of minor infractions of the unit and reporting their findings to the Field Marshal.
Marshal – This is the company commander of a company with the chapter. In MWO, this person is responsible for calling drops and making assignments. Also tasked with upkeep of the unit on the website, promotions, demotions, applications, as well as the first line supervisor to deal with administrative actions with the members within the company. This person is assigned to the Company level. All positions below this point are assigned to the company level.
1st Legionnaire – This person fills the position of 1st LT to the company commander. Has no real authority except which is delegated to this person by the company commander. While officer in rank, has no real authority to discipline, only to take such complaints from other members and make recommendations to the Marshal. This is the same as with unit assignments, promotions, etc. The prime legionnaire is the right hand to the Marshall and is second in line to call drops and make assignments during operations. This person is the officer responsible for ensuring that all Marshal directives are carried out and to issue spot corrections as needed.
Veteran Legionnaire – This member of the unit is a senior Legionnaire and has proven themselves on the battle field. Further, their time in service and dedication to the mercenary unit as a whole make this person an invaluable member of the unit. While no direct authority, this person is seen as an elder of the unit and it is strongly advisable for lesser ranks to follow their advice.
Legionnaire – This person has graduated from the ranks of Initiate by proving themselves in the trials, as well as the battle field. This is the base level for all soldiers of the Shadow Legion, and once this rank has been achieved, this person is a full-fledged member of the shadow legion. This person is the first to be able to vote in decision making matters as delegated by the Lord Marshal.
Initiate – Newest member of the unit. Absolutely no authority and no voting power. This individual must prove themselves through the Trials to become a member of the Shadow Legion.
